We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty ~ Maya Angelou

I love this quote so much because I am sure it stems from a deep place in her. Maya Angelou was a phenomenal woman, an outstanding poet and writer but she had to go through a lot before she became the woman we all remember her to be.

People look at your accomplishments and successes, they acknowledge the fact that you are thriving but it’s only a few that understands the hard work you had to put in, the sleepless nights, the days you felt you couldn’t go on , the anxiety and depression, times when you just wanted to give up. All they see is the beauty because people don’t relate with the ugly.
