Where does happiness reside?

Does it have a price tag?

Does it have a special name?

Does it have a color?

Does it come in form of a man or woman?

Does it come in a special dish or cup?

Does it have a particular taste?

Does it sneak up unannounced?

How does happiness make you feel?

What does happiness mean to you?

Maybe all of the above? Sometimes it is a choice in the moment.

Oh wow! I wasn’t expecting anyone to comment on this especially you! I love love your poetry goodness. I am still trying to grasp the whole happiness thing hence the questions. Most times i wish I could choose to be but I can’t remember the last time I was genuinely happy.

These are good questions, Reina. I think happiness as a destination sucks – it sneaks up on us in moments when you are emerged in something that fuels our passion or warms our hearts. Words and images bring me joy. I have just started painting, and that makes me happy. Thanks for your encouragement for my writing.

You will. The promise of life is that is never predictable. Happiness sneaks up on us. The secret is to catch it when it does. Keep writing.
